Check out the GORGEOUS lobby of the Lansing Board of Water and Light’s John Dye Water Conditioning Plant, featuring powerful murals by WPA artists, a double-staircase, original glass block, terrazzo floors, and Deco details everywhere.  The photos above are just a taste. Articles and great slide slow in this Lansing State Journal article:

Stunning lobby of BWL Dye Water Plant will blow you away

The mythical Greek water carrier Aquarius graces the front of the building, surrounded by small children, representing Lansing, who are receiving a sprinkling of water.

The 30-foot high windows are atop doors made of heavy metal, brass and copper.

The building is the Lansing Board of Water & Light’s John Dye Water Conditioning Plant on South Cedar Street. Thousands of people drive by the structure daily, most with with no idea of the beauty within.
